My cousin Katie moved to DC for six months, and I got to go visit her while she was there. She lived in the cutest townhome near Dupont Circle, and it was the perfect mix of neighborhood and bustling city. I had been to Washington DC twice before on school trips, but it was so much more fun to come back as more of an adult and be able to freely explore the city. I visited the iconic spots - White House, Washington Monument, Capitol, Library of Congress, Supreme Court - but also the National Portrait Gallery and National Museum of African American History. However, the highlight of the weekend was walking around Georgetown. It was also just so great spending time with Katie and meeting one of her best friends.
