I needed to get my UK visa validated by re-entering the country, so when Ashley suggested I meet her in Italy for a few days, I said "fine, twist my arm". We stayed in Naples and did day trips to Pompeii and Sorrento. Naples is known for being the birth place of pizza, and I had some of my best pizza here. It's a busy city, but there's so much to see and do. We spent the whole first day wandering around the city, eating and drinking to our hearts content.
The next day, we took an early train to Sorrento, a coastal town just opposite of the Amalfi Coast. Sorrento was BEAUTIFUL, and if I had to do it again, I think I would stay here over staying in Naples. There are so many cute cafes and restaurants, and you're steps away from the water. After grabbing a coffee and bite to eat, we took a scenic walk down to the docks where we rented a day bed and lounged all day. The water was crystal clear and it was such a fun, relaxing day.Â
On our last day, we took the train to Pompeii which is only about 45 minutes away from Naples. I used to be fascinated with the story of Pompeii, so it was so cool to be able to walk the streets and see the ruins. Overall, it was such a fun trip and so good to spend quality time with Ashley!
